Kerala RTC will run 12 special services from Bengaluru during the Pooja holidays. Six of these buses will be silver line jet services. The services will be operating from Bengaluru to Kerala on October 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd and return trips on 25th and 26th.
The time and ticket rate will be announced once the buses are granted temporary permit. The silver line jets will be operating services to Kozhikode, Thrissur, Kottayam and Ernakulam. Super deluxe, super express and super fast buses will be used for other services. As ticket booking gets over for Kerala RTC buses on 21st and 22nd when most people head home for Pooja holidays, the announcement of the special buses will be a great relief for passengers. Kerala RTC ran services of 14 special buses from Bengaluru during last Onam season. The services which were run with proper planning as compared to past years earned considerable income for KSRTC.
The flexi permit extended to super deluxe services by Kerala RTC will be introduced in the first phase in six services going via Salem. The flexi is being implemented in deluxe services going towards Kottarakkara, Thiruvalla, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Thrissur.
Extending the flexi rate which was implemented successfully in Volvo services in September to super deluxe services as well is likely to prove beneficial to passengers. As per flexi permit a higher rate is charged on busy days and a lower rate on days when passenger traffic is less. Flexi permit enables raising tickets by 15 % and lowering them by 10 %.
